ABC White House Correspondent Jonathan Karl sat down with Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) at Tortilla Coast, the now-infamous D.C. restaurant where Cruz held one of his meetings amidst the government shutdown, and was quite visibly taken aback when Cruz told him that he was trying to stay out of the political fray. “This is a city where it’s all politics, all the time,” Cruz said, “and I’m trying to do my best not to pay attention to the politics.” “Really?” Karl asked, incredulous. “I know that’s hard to believe, because no one in this town does that,” Cruz said. “This is a time for people to stand up and do the right thing.”

Phil Robertson In 2009: Men Should Marry Girls When They are 15 Or 16 Years Old

The right wing regularly calls Harvey Milk a "predator pedophile" because he allegedly dated a teenager. Liberty Counsel spokesdouche Matt Barber: "Harvey Milk was demonstrably, categorically an evil man based on his rape of teenage boys."  Let's see how Barber and his ilk spin THIS message from Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson.

What you want to do, according to the Duck Dynasty patriarch, is “marry these girls when they’re about fifteen or sixteen.” Robertson is no stranger to doing just that. He began dating his wife Marsha when she was fourteen and he a legal adult. They married two years later when she was just sixteen. The age of consent in Louisiana is seventeen years old, and it is a crime for anyone regardless of age to engage in sexual relations with a fourteen year old (though there is no word on if they had premarital sex). If a person is under seventeen, it is illegal for anyone more than two years older to have sex with them. No matter what, it is likely (but not proven) that Robertson broke at least one law.

Dating a 14 year old while a legal adult? C'mon, Matt Barber. Let's hear about this godly relationship.

Television Boycotts In The Name Of Jesus Are Totally OK With Teabagistan

That deafening sound you hear is crickets, because the weekly boycott demands by the American Family Association, one of the nation's largest Christian advocacy groups, are totally OK with the Tea People.  Because when Christianist groups call for nationwide boycotts of television shows and their advertisers, that is a righteous use of the free market in order to preserve morality, marriage, family, and the American way. But when GAY groups use or threaten the use of a boycott, THAT is homofascist intimidation, intolerance, bullying, a stifling of religious liberty, and an attempt to deny the freedom of speech. Palin said she would leave it to the lawyers to decide whether it’s a “free speech rule of law or not,” and would herself focus on the larger question of “whether we’re allowed to express our personal opinions without threats of intimidation and mockery and criticism and loss of jobs and revenue.” “I think people loosely use the term ‘free speech,’” Van Susteren said, without saying which “people” she was referring to. She added that “if the market wants to be such that people don’t want to watch someone, so be it.”

A&E Suspends Phil Robertson

The A&E network has suspended Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson for comments he made in which he compared gay people to horse-fuckers and said that we're all bound for an eternal agony in a lake of fire. (So to speak.)

“Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson has been suspended from the A&E reality series, following anti-gay remarks he made in an interview with GQ magazine. In a statement, A+E Networks said he had been placed on indefinite hiatus. “We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson’s comments in GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the series Duck Dynasty,” the company said. “His personal views in no way reflect those of A+E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community. The network has placed Phil under hiatus from filming indefinitely.” Robertson caused controversy with his comments, in which he grouped gays with “drunks” and “terrorists,” and said that they won’t “inherit the kingdom of God.

The haters are already screaming.

In fact, nowhere in the judge's 91-page ruling do the words "same-sex marriage" appear.  What the judge DID cite is Lawrence V Texas, which overturned statewide bans on sodomy by declaring that all consenting adult Americans have a right to sexual privacy in their own homes. But the pesky truth is unimportant over at Breitbart, not even to "senior legal analyst" Ken Klukowski. And guess what Klukowski's day job is? Funny how they never mention that at Breitbart, huh?

Just like his fellow conservative host Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck was not pleased with TIME Magazine’s decision to name Pope Francis its Person of the Year for 2013. But unlike Glenn Greenwald and countless other journalists, Beck didn’t think the honor should have gone to Edward Snowden. He had someone else in mind: Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX). Beck claimed that the only reason TIME didn’t put Cruz on its year-end cover was because they “didn’t want to give him anymore power.” Meanwhile, Beck admonished the magazine for making Adolf Hitler what was then called “Man of the Year” in 1938. He was also upset about the inclusion of Benito Mussolini, even though that never actually happened. “Remember, progressives are fascist,” he reminded his audience. “They are for fascism.”

Michelle Malkin Sells Twitchy

Twitchy, the conservative Twitter aggregation site, has been sold for an undisclosed amount to Salem Communications, the Christian radio conglomerate and owners of Hotair.com and Townhall.com. Jonathan Garthwaite, general manager and editor-in-chief of Townhall.com, confirmed the news to BuzzFeed Tuesday, saying he was “excited” to be folding Twitchy into existing Salem news properties. “Media Matters types would like to paint conservatives as boring, old white guys,” Garthwaite said. “Twitchy adds more fun and humor to our platform, which will appeal to totally different generation and break that stereotype.”

Malkin claims that Twitchy is generating 12 million pages views a month with a staff of nine.
