Brian Brown Appears On MSNBC

Brian Brown appeared on an MSNBC panel this weekend where he declared that if a constitutional ban on same-sex marriage were to make it onto the Indiana ballot, "We'll see North Carolina all over again." Josh Barro gets in some good shots.

Brian Brown's Final Money Beg Of 2013

"Dear Joe, Today, more than ever, marriage needs a vibrant and vigorous defense. New assaults seem to be popping up every month — like the recent one from the Obama-appointed judge in Utah — and we must dig deep and engage in the battle with increased fervor. The good news is that 2014 promises to be a year full of opportunity for the marriage movement to regain ground and seize back the momentum! We'll be working to energize and engage grassroots, citizen-led efforts to defend marriage in states where it's strongly supported, like Indiana and Ohio. In addition, we are aiming to win crucial victories on the federal level — like working to win back the United States Senate, and to rally support behind the ‘silver bullet' of a federal marriage amendment. Please, if you haven't donated recently — or even if you have — I'm humbly asking you to click here right away and make a generous donation to support NOM and our work to defend marriage and the faith communities that sustain it." - Hate group leader Brian Brown, via email.

Brian Brown Has The 2013 Sadz

"Hope necessarily drew the Wise Men from the East to glorify the newly born Savior... but the people of Bethlehem didn't see that — they only saw the vindictive and brutal retaliation of King Herod. You and I are often very much like those poor townsfolk, who see only the brutality without seeing the underlying magnificence of God's blessings. These days, to watch the news you might wonder if there's any decency or morality left in America. But what about those other stories that came out several days before Christmas? Where is the hope to be found in them? The Hope I hold onto in the case of Ohio is the same Hope I have for our whole country and indeed our whole world. It is, in fact, the very Hope of Christmas itself. And that's the true and profound message of Hope I want to share today." - Hate group leader Brian Brown, who lost every single battle of 2013, in yesterday's money beg. (There's already been another one today.)

Brian Brown Has The Ohio Sadz

"Though seemingly confined to how Ohio's death certificates treat so-called same-sex 'marriages' performed elsewhere, the ruling is utterly unlawful and violates the sovereignty of the people of Ohio. We call on the state to appeal the ruling of this activist judge. In the DOMA case, the US Supreme Court specifically ruled that it is the right of the states to define marriage. This activist judge is grossly twisting the Court's ruling in the DOMA case in order to justify a ruling that is completely at odds with the law. In the process, he has issued an open invitation for gay marriage activists to bring a wider lawsuit to redefine marriage entirely. This cannot be allowed to stand." - Hate group leader Brian Brown, in his fourth case of the sadz in the last five days.

Brian Brown Has The GLAAD Sadz

"As you have undoubtedly heard, the special-interest homosexual group GLAAD launched their campaign to bully A&E networks into suspending Ducky Dynasty star Phil Robertson from his own show simply for honestly answering questions put to him in an interview with GQ magazine about the tenets of his faith. It clearly demonstrates how intensely aggressive and intolerant the radicals pushing the same-sex marriage agenda are... and how far they will go to ensure that religious views about sex and marriage are altogether removed from the public square! They're going after basic first amendment rights — not just religious liberty, but free speech as well! We must put a stop to this! NOM's mission is to protect marriage and the faith communities that sustain it." - Hate group leader Brian Brown, getting wrong both the name of the show AND the definition of freedom of speech.

Brian Brown Has The Utah Sadz

"This ruling is a travesty of justice. The voters of Utah made their will in this matter perfectly clear less than 10 years ago when adopting an amendment to the state constitution defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman. This ruling should concern every American who cares about the rights of citizens and their involvement in determining the laws that govern us. This trend of vetoing the voters from the bench must be stopped. We appreciate Attorney General Tarbet's swift action in seeking a stay of this decision and his commitment to appeal the ruling to the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. The rush to issue same-sex ‘marriage' licenses in Salt Lake County before the ink is even dry on Judge Shelby's decision is unseemly and an insult to the people. This is one of the most important issues facing the state and country. The constitution of the United States is not changed because a single judge says it should be. This critical matter needs to be considered by the higher courts immediately." - Hate group leader Brian Brown, who has the motherfucking sadz for the second time in 24 hours.

Brian Brown: JMG Is Blasphemous And Totally Keeps Quoting Me Verbatim

"For GLAAD, of all groups, to demand for A&E to punish him [Phil Robertson] for these words manifests an irony that would almost be funny if it wasn't so offensive. The same organization, GLAAD, has awarded and celebrated the gay blogger, Joe Jervis (of the famous gay blog, Joe.My.G*d). Apart from the blasphemous and offensive title of his blog, Jervis makes a living saying hateful things about Christians and others who disagree with his views, and saying them often in a pretty crude and crass manner. Of course, Jervis is nothing in comparison with Dan Savage, whom we all know well for his hate-filled rants about Christianity (such as his statement that the Bible is "bulls**t"). And guess what? GLAAD has been just as cozy with Savage in the past as well!" - Hate group leading Brian Brown, who is super pissed about my motherfucking potty mouth.

Brian Brown Has The New Mexico Sadz

"Today's opinion by the New Mexico Supreme Court is disappointing but not surprising. These are the same justices that demanded in an earlier ruling that Christians be the ones to compromise and deny their faith, in the case of Elane Photography. Once again, activists judges have thrown out the historic legal understanding of marriage in New Mexico. This is a continuation of a very dangerous rush towards silencing people of faith who simply believe marriage to be the union of one man and one woman. The National Organization for Marriage will do everything in its power to protect believers of true marriage in New Mexico and around the nation from the fallout of radical judges who deny the truth of marriage." - Hate group leader Brian Brown, who adds that New Mexico is only further proof of the need for a federal constitutional amendment against same-sex marriage. Which, of course, will never ever ever fucking happen.

NOM Launches Duck Dynasty Petition, Demands Reinstatement Of Phil Robertson

Reality television is about as far-flung from the mission of NOM as it can get, but that hasn't stopped them from opportunistically jumping on the outrage train. Hate group leader Brian Brown writes:
Do we want to live in a country where we cannot express something we believe so sincerely and feel so strongly without fear of reprisals, bullying, and intimidation? Do we want to let groups like HRC that spew hateful rhetoric and incite bigotry towards Christians dictate what is and is not acceptable to say in the public square in America? What kind of America will that mean for our children? And, more immediately, what would that mean for the future of marriage in America? This is a major moment in the cultural battle over the truth of marriage, and whether America will tolerate an ongoing debate about same-sex unions. If the HRC and GLAAD are able to silence Phil Robertson, nobody's safe from their abject bullying.

Brian Brown Has The Polygamy Sadz

"There's no doubt that the arguments for same-sex marriage were a template for this case. Once marriage is determined to be primarily about providing government recognition and benefits for loving, committed relationships, there is simply no principled way not to extend 'marriage' to everyone, no matter the nature of their relationship. People in polygamist, plural marriages are just a short step away now from winning official marriage rights. Adult incest practitioners will have similar claims, as will adult siblings and other close relations. Lost in this disastrous push to transform marriage into the satisfaction of adult sexual desires are the interests of children, and their right to the love of one mother and one father." - Hate group leader Brian Brown, comparing the ruling in Utah to the "several states that have redefined marriage." Because sixteen is several.

Brian Brown: Bakers Are Artists And Deserve The Freedom To Discriminate

"I challenge any same-sex marriage activist to take to their blog or to pen an op-ed doubling down on the opinion that what cake decorators and bakers do isn't a form of artistry and doesn't deserve protections as a form of expression! And I'd be willing to bet if this case had involved a portrait painter, or a photographer, or a musician, or a florist, the judge would have ruled exactly the same way. How's that for citizenship 'rights' in America? So that same-sex couples can redefine marriage to suit their own desires, the first amendment rights of all artists — poets and painters, florists and bakers, musicians and photographers — will be delineated by what the courts decide constitutes 'expression.'" - Hate group leader Brian Brown, writing about the Colorado bakery case.

Brian Brown: We're Working To Get 51 GOP Senators To Smash LGBT Movement

"Dear Joe, We're striving for 51. What would it mean if we had 51 US senators who supported marriage as the union of one man and one woman to go along with the majority of US House members we already have? It means we would be able to move forward legislation such as the Marriage and Religious Freedom Act, which was introduced in the House by Rep. Raul Labrador and is expected to be introduced in the Senate shortly. This legislation would protect people and groups who stand for marriage in the public square against government retaliation. It means we'd be able to stop the Obama Administration from the regulatory power grab they are deploying to ignore federal law and impose same-sex ‘marriage' wherever they can — in the military, among immigrants, etc.

"And it means that we'd have a fighting chance at advancing Rep. Tim Huelscamp's proposed Federal Marriage Amendment, which would preserve marriage across the country as the union of one man and one woman and strip courts of their authority to redefine marriage. Imagine how good it would feel after being on defense for so long to be able to pass federal laws protecting marriage, to hold the IRS and the Obama Administration to account and to advance a federal marriage amendment that would make the federal courts powerless to redefine marriage ever again?  This is all within our grasp if we can hold the House and gain control of the US Senate. But that will happen only if you help us by making a year-end contribution right now to our Marriage Victory Fund." - Hate group leader Brian Brown, changing his tune about the Senate filibuster rules in his (allegedly) final money beg of the year.

Today's Money Beg From Brian Brown

"I wanted to stack up some numbers for you to let you know where marriage in America stands as of this moment: States that currently define marriage as the union of one man and one woman: 34. States that have state constitutional amendments protecting that definition: 30. States that have redefined marriage to include homosexual couples: 16. Of those 16 states, marriage has been redefined by the courts (5 times) or by legislative action (11 times — Maine passing their law through referendum). What do these numbers tell me? The vast majority of America and the American people overwhelmingly back marriage. Same-sex 'marriage' activists are going to be very hard pressed for victories in the future. State constitutional amendments are the highest form of protection offered at the state level, and overcoming that won't be easy.  We still have several opportunities to add to our totals by passing state constitutional amendments in states favorable to our cause, like Indiana." - Hate group leader Brian Brown, who closes with the usual vow to destroy the careers of pro-marriage politicians.

Brian Brown Cheers Croatia

"Kudos to Croatia! The people of Croatia also did something remarkable to preserve marriage. A group called 'In the Name of the Family' led an initiative to place a pro-marriage ballot measure before the voters of the small Balkan nation. Croats went to the polls on Sunday and voted overwhelmingly in favor of marriage as the union of one man and one woman, with the measure gaining 66% of the popular vote! Joe, be encouraged by this news and remember that the redefinition of marriage and family to become genderless institutions is not at all inevitable, and it certainly hasn't carried public opinion away in any kind of landside." - Hate group leader Brian Brown, via email.
