The drive to break up California is reaching new heights of crazy with the Six Californias website, which features little more than the above graphic and an email contact. Still, the site is being excitedly passed around in Teabagistan.  Today the Verge tells us that the Six Californias plan is the brainchild of venture capitalist Tim Draper:

While the state of Silicon Valley hires more overseas engineers, Draper imagines, a new "South California" could simultaneously crack down on immigration. "West California" could cater laws to Hollywood and defense contractors, and "Central California" could focus on farming and water rights without city slickers getting in the way. But Draper is serious about the idea. He believes he can get the the proposal on California's ballot next November. The venture capitalist already submitted a five-page proposal to the California Attorney General, and he hopes to embark on a grassroots campaign to raise the nearly one-million signatures it would require to put the idea to a preliminary vote next year. At a press conference on Monday, he joked that he would spend "as little as possible" of his own money on the campaign, but suggested that he would personally fund the first step. "I will make sure it gets on the ballot," he told reporters in attendance.

CNN host Don Lemon and crackpot freak show Larry Klayman got into it last night.

Klayman has previously received media attention for saying during a government shutdown rally that Obama needs “to put the Quran down, to get up off his knees, and to figuratively come out with his hands up,” leading to a particularly contentious fight with Martin Bashir. On CNN, Klayman was steamed that his appearance was preceded by what he saw as a hit piece on his character, and told Lemon, “It’s important to note that you’re a big supporter of Obama, that you have favored him in every respect.” He called Lemon an “ultra-leftist,” but Lemon interrupted and threatened to cut him out of the segment if he kept going. Toobin, who was never a fan of what Snowden did, argued that this was an important ruling on a serious subject that shouldn’t be tarnished by the “tin foil hat paranoia” of the “lunatic” on screen with him. Klayman responded by attacking Toobin’s past and calling him an unserious person who ‘should not be doing legal commentary for CNN.”

Scott Lively Launches Bid For MA Governor

Earlier this year we learned that Scott Lively, who is arguably the most evil of all the American anti-gay crackpots, was planning to run for governor of Massachusetts.  Yesterday MassLive reported that Lively's campaign has been launched.

His campaign motto is "Qualified. Experienced. Electable." Publicly available campaign finance records show he has about $3,000 in his coffers, including a $2,000 loan to himself. Lively said he does not believe being the target of a 2012 lawsuit in federal court leveled by Sexual Minorities Uganda in connection with his anti-homosexuality campaign in that country will hurt his chances as a candidate. "If anything, I think it will help me when people learn how ridiculous the lawsuit is," he said during an interview. Lively is running as an independent in the "bluest of the blue states," he said. He said he will be a viable option for conservatives whom, he said, have been abandoned by Republicans and have no connection with Democrats, to whom he refers as "Communists." "The people of Massachusetts need a candidate who can clearly and unapologetically articulate Biblical values without fear or compromise," his campaign literature states. "They need a candidate who will tell the simple truth that abortion is murder, and homosexuality is condemned by God (but that Jesus forgives those who repent)."
