BRITAIN: Activists Crash Coke Event

Anna Leach reports at Gay Star News:
Protestors gate-crashed a Coca-Cola Christmas PR stunt in London's Covent Garden today, in opposition to the global brand's sponsorship of the Sochi Olympics. The gay rights activists, including Peter Tatchell, tried to climb on the roof of the Coca-Cola truck parked in the center of London on one of the busiest Christmas shopping days. They were pulled down by security guards. 'Coke is sponsoring the Sochi Winter Olympics, without even a murmur of unease at the anti-gay and repressive policies of the Putin government. It is shameful acquiescence with oppression,' said Tatchell, coordinator of the protest.
Coke has issued a statement: "We have long been a strong supporter of the LGBT community and have advocated for inclusion and diversity through both our policies and practices. We do not condone intolerance or discrimination of any kind anywhere in the world. We believe a more positive impact can be made through continued involvement [in the Olympics], rather than by sitting on the sidelines."

Log Cabin Republicans Slam "Gay Stereotypes" In Obamacare Pitch

Via press release from Log Cabin Republicans head Gregory Angelo:
This cynical ad betrays the depths Obamacare advocates will sink to in order to pad their pathetic enrollment numbers. As a self-proclaimed ‘fierce advocate’ of gay equality, President Obama would do well to distance himself from this nonsense and denounce it immediately. This ad is also an example of the left promoting harmful stereotypes that gay men are nothing more than sex-crazed lechers. If anyone on the right made such a comparison, liberals would be apoplectic. At a time when left-wing propagandists are decrying Duck Dynasty‘s Phil Robertson for equating homosexuality with promiscuity and deviance, Out2Enroll and others should take a look in the mirror and ask if the truth is that they are the ones responsible for promoting such harmful stereotypes.
Here's the ad, which I first posted last week.

Pam Geller Is Very Upset About New Campaign From "Seattle's Jew-Haters"

Shrieking harpy Pam Geller is battling yet another transit agency.
The Jew-haters are at it again. The relentless Seattle Mideast Awareness Campaign (SeaMAC) has launched another vicious Goebbels-style blood libel against the Jews in Seattle. Yes, this is Seattle where we are moving forward with our lawsuit against Seattle transit for their refusal to run our FBI Global Faces of Terrorism ad. We will prevail in that lawsuit. Just as we will prevail in our lawsuit against Boston. AFDI will not let this go unanswered -- we have submitted the following ad to Seattle transit. Contribute to this campaign here.

Robot Telemarketer: I'm Not A Robot

Via TIME Magazine:
The phone call came from a charming woman with a bright, engaging voice to the cell phone of a TIME Washington Bureau Chief Michael Scherer. She wanted to offer a deal on health insurance, but something was fishy. When Scherer asked point blank if she was a real person, or a computer-operated robot voice, she replied enthusiastically that she was real, with a charming laugh. But then she failed several other tests. When asked “What vegetable is found in tomato soup?” she said she did not understand the question. When asked multiple times what day of the week it was yesterday, she complained repeatedly of a bad connection.
There's another clip at the link.

Liquid-Plumr: Your Hot Faucet Will Flow When We're Deep In Your Pipes

Liquid-Plumr has followed up on their winking ad campaign with a calendar. Via Ad Week:
Each month features a hunky model-plumber with centerfold stats (May's guilty pleasure is sticky buns) and a short piece of copy on plumbing care, with the adjectives "thick" and "deep" used ad nauseam. It is, admittedly, a clever distraction from the actual fact that these products are for something completely unsexy: toilets and clogged drains. "Only have 10 minutes? I only need 7 with Liquid Plumr Urgent Clear ... I'm a fan of quickies." "Just put it [in] and let it do its thing." "A 23-inch snake to reach deep in your pipe ..." We get it. You mean sex.
The calendar is here for free download. (Tipped by JMG reader Bill)
