Sad Search of the Day

Someone came to this blog today through searching this phrase...
what do you do if genetic sexual attraction has ruined your life

This is sad.

As I've said before, Genetic Sexual Attraction almost always involves pain, even under the best of circumstances. If for no other reason, the prejudice that still exists towards people experiencing GSA is painful.

It doesn't help that in so many places, there are laws criminalizing consensual sex between adults brought together through GSA. An arrest and certainly a conviction can ruin you live. Such laws are truly unjust and should be stricken from the books.

When one person experiences GSA but the feelings aren't mutual, that can be a problem.

When someone is in a relationship (such as a marriage) that is closed, or at least not open to the people experiencing GSA following their feelings, that can be a problem.

When acting on GSA violates a locality's age of consent laws, that can be a problem.

When someone has inner turmoil because of their beliefs (perhaps religion-based) about sexuality conflicts with the strong pull of GSA, that can be a problem.

When GSA means someone is overwhelmingly attracted to someone who is all wrong for them, especially if they are abusive, that can be a problem.

So yes, GSA can ruin lives. People can lose marriages, lose custody of children, lose their job, even lose their freedom. Some of the problems are unnecessary products of ignorance, prejudice, and discrimination, and that will change as awareness increases and rights are recognized.

People need to decide for themselves what to do. And it should be up to them.

Feel free to reach out for help. There are people who understand, who know what you're going through. I can be reached at fullmarriageequality at yahoo dot com or at http://www.facebook.com/fullmarriageequality"item"'>
